"I think you have already got the answers that you were looking for, Mireille, but just wanted to add my thoughts.
I used to do what Karen describes her husband doing, standing high up to photograph a blanket lying flat on the ground. Advancing age…"
"Laying a blanket flat on the ground will always show the best shape. I feel holding them up makes the natural gravity + combined weight of the yarns appear a different shape when they are not.
It is difficult for oneself to take a photo of a…"
"I've read your comment, Mireille, but I think you must be seeing the photos differently from me. Most of the blankets from the latest post are being held up by a volunteer whereas a few of the "perfect" ones have been photographed flat on the…"
"J'ai une question technique toute "bête" : pourquoi beaucoup de couvertures paraissent-elles très déformées, gondolées etc sur les photos et quelques rares sur fond gris parfaitement droites et rectangulaires comme la cinquième à partir du haut…"
"Love, love, love the bright pink squares 🩷
I see one square that could be mine, but who knows - I always think I remember but when they are put into a blanket they look so different that I'm not sure!"
"Oh what beautiful bounty! Such great use of textures, appliques galore, sensational stripes and some really glorious and unusual colourways. I'm delighted to spot 2 of my creations amongst this collection too. Thank you for posting xx"
Hi Patricia, yes you're right I haven't been active on here for almost two years, but thankfully my meeting up with Karen will change that! Thanks for accepting! Linda
Thank you so much Patricia. I haven't been "visible" on the forum, but behind the scenes I was doing my "job"for KAS and we had a busy time here. I saw all the beautiful items that were made but wasn't able to comment, and naturally I missed the forum too. xo
A warm welcome to Knit A Square, from over here in Western Australia. :))
Knitting or crocheting an 8" square or two or possibly even a few is a wonderful gift for the children. They love to receive their blankets, created from squares, which come from kindly, caring folk such as yourself, from over 60 countries all over our world. You are encouraged to knit/crochet in any stitch you prefer, but we do ask that they not be too 'lacy' as warmth is our highest priority. PJs (Plain Janes as they are affectionately known) are the backbone to all our blankets. These are single colour squares that are in garter stitch(knitting) or single crochet as they are very solid and provide a contrast to a picture/striped/patterned square or two that may be added to a blanket.By clicking on the KASpattern book tab at the top of the page you can also find lots of patterns provided by our fellow K-A-Sers. If you would kindly check out our wishlist, you can see what items we are currently focusing on. http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/wish-list-2017
Clicking on the 'Helpful Hints' tab at the top of the page, will possibly answer many initial questions you may have .Any other questions...please ask...we love to help. :)) You can also find a packing slip (which goes inside the parcel) to send with parcels there.
If you'd like to see what other KASers have been making please click on the photo tab at the top of the page....and feel free to add photos of your creations...we would love to see them. Just click on 'add photos' and follow the prompts.
If you want to see the most active discussions at present, you may like to click on the 'main page' tab and they are listed in the centre of that page...just pick one and click on it. It is a large website, but with so much fun and info.

Hi Patricia, thank you for the kind comment on Rachael's blanket, I'm hoping to see it wrapped around a child one day, Diane
