A very happy report from Ronda in The Barn.

It was a joyful, productive day in the KASbarn today … we were all delighted to have Estelle in our midst ! She arrived with a car loaded to capacity with blankets, beanies, hand warmers and soft toys - the proceeds of several “opening” days in Bryanston in the last while.

Audrey and Liz had sewn together around 40 beautiful blankets … and there were some glorious blankets from Sunelle, still faithfully working on her stunning creations for KAS despite having moved to the Cape !

Such lovely soft teddies from Sally Paterson … these will be used as “comfort bears” to encourage

any child who is sad or struggling through something … like a “floating trophy” at carer’s discretion.

Several parcels arrived from an overseas school - we did laugh at these attempts to “re-size” squares ! But won’t be using these.

Viv with two “faceless” soft toys, but with yarn provided she will give them features - look forward to “meeting” them next week !!!

Best surprise … a visit to the Barn by my darling daughter, Erin.

Please be advised everyone … our KASbarn opening day is being moved to a THURSDAY from 8th February 2024.

This will free up both Norma and myself to attend the “Bryanston group” opening days as there will no longer be a Tuesday clash … and several other situations will “click” into place more readily too!!

Welcome 2024 to a year of heaps of squares to be made into blankets for our needy children…thanks to all connected to KNIT A SQUARE to make this possible.

Once again thank you Ada Breeuwer for the 2024 banner. It’s become a tradition for me to work around your fabulous squares…a tradition I love and am privileged to do.

It started off with a bang when Sunel Botes and her family spent the morning with me showing her latest collection of blankets. Wow!!! KAS appreciates your ongoing support Sunél even though you have relocated many hundreds of kilometers away. It was like the old days seeing your happy face in January.

We had our first get together of 2024 yesterday to open post which Ronda kindly let me collect from the Bryanston Post Office.

What a treat to see Sheldon arrive with Audrey. Welcome back and thanks for being our model of the day.

Soft and cuddly just what our vulnerable children need.

I’ve gone a bit crazy with Show & Tell but as it’s our first opening day I’m sure you’ll bare with me…these are not even all the blankets we received.

The blankets are all so gorgeous and colourful....they sure do make me smile.....as does that 'little ray of sunshine', Sheldon.

Knit-a-Square back in the saddle and ready for action 2024. May it be a great year for ALL !

Bernard collected two loads of post during the Christmas holidays, and Estelle another 22 parcels yesterday.

So … a happy, busy morning for all of us, some in the barn within the Kempton Caravans -Leisure World complex, and some in Bryanston at Estelle’s house.
