With The Barn relocating to a different area in Johannesburg there are ample opportunities

for distributions to New-to-KAS Creches. 

Join us on our 2024 journey to Warm The Children in South Africa with Blankets, Beanies, and Hand- Warmers...Soft Cuddly Toys, too.

    Thank you Athele and Estelle for doing this Christmas distribution and thank you to all the volunteers who make these distributions possible.  I am thrilled to see seven of my blankets given to needy children.

      We love your blankets Sandra...you're so creative with the most amazing imagination. We handed out all 10 of your blankets. I wish you could see the expression on the children's and the carers faces whether the blankets are plain or have motives, the children can hardly believe that the blankets are theirs to keep.

    More Christmas Distribution photos from Athele...
    So much colour and comfort again from Knit-a-square, a wonderful worldwide charity dedicated to giving primarily handmade blankets, but whenever possible also soft toys beanies and handwarmers to extremely impoverished children in SA.
    These pics from a recent distribution Estelle McLeod and I did in Lion Park informal settlement on the far northern boundaries of Johannesburg.
    Hopefully in the tons of pics is one where you can spot one of our wonderful collaborators in efforts to give only to children who have not had before, busy keeping list in the midst! So grateful to our folk on the ground and every contributor who makes it possible for us to give so many beautiful blankets!
    About 15 or so in this lot were blankets I’d stitched together from donated squares, since about October.

      Darling photos, thank you.   I spotted 2 basketweave blankets of mine, some tiger coloured squares, oh and some hats, and am really bowled over by all the bountiful happy colours in other makes xx
