You will see post and parcels coming into The Barn, Lots of Sorting and Bundling, and Blanket Making.  

You will hear funny stories and reports about our volunteers.

    New from the Barn on November 13,2025.

    Hi everyone … 2025 draws to a close on a rather wet note for KAS SA as we arrived at the Barn yesterday morning to a FLOOD !
    This time not from rain, but from a water pipe that burst on the floor above us and cascaded down into our premises.
    Unlike our Randburg floods, not one blanket was found wet and the storeroom stayed dry … but my office with all the books and files, stationary cupboard, kitchen and barn floors were wet - as you will see from pics.

    And also unlike our Randburg floods, we had a wonderful team of Kempton Caravans staff to help clean up !

    We will have one more distribution this year - the Estelle/Athele Christmas event still on the calendar … up to this point we have listed 2025 blankets distributed in 2025...No kidding !!

      Oh No!!  You've done really well to have cleared up the water folks.   What an inconvenience.  Good luck with the last planned distribution.   Gosh 2025 warmer children is impressive and a coincidental figure!   Th U for the newsy update and pictures of stored blankets and hats all ready for 2026.♥️

    New from Estelle on October 28, 2025...

    After a longish break it was great to see the team armed with beautiful blankets.
     
    Once again Audrey and Wendy have been flat out sewing blankets and crocheting
    105 squares to make 15 lovely blankets. Your’e both ⭐️’s!

      Thank you for these photos.   Very tidy folks, I'm very impressed.  The pink blanket is mine, but not the 2 gorgeous crochet ones in the last picture - kudos to whomever made them though.   Lots of beautiful + original ideas through the rest of the makes ♥️

    From Estelle from her new home on September 23.

    I’m so proud of my team who just carried on making beautiful blankets for KNIT-A-SQUARE while we were unable to get together.
    On Tuesday we packed 27 blankets from Audrey, 20 from Liz, 5 from Sweetie, 4 from Antoinette Nothling's team and 1 from me - 57 blankets!

    Many thanks to you and your families for taking pics of your own blankets - it was a tremendous help this month.
     
    We also received 3 gorgeous blankets from Amy and Athele Oosterbroke did her own distribution in Pafuri distributing 39 blankets on behalf of KNIT-A-SQUARE to extremely needy children. Athelé posts her own reports and amazing photographs.
     
    Many thanks to Ronda Lowrie for delivering masses of squares and yarn for us to carry on with until we’re back to normal. One advantage was the blankets Ronda collected just stayed in the KAS van and were distributed on Thursday…thank you Kempton Park team.
