This is beyond amazing Sharon. The skill, your patience and colour choice have resulted in a stunning piece of work. Well done. I could go on and on. I understand your blanket envy Lesley, crochet and some of your favourite colours.
Many years ago now, I had a chance to meet with Amy for a short visit. She taught me how to do crochet entrelac. I made one blanket with the technique, but then never got back to it. I recently saw a blanket made with the technique, and decided to do another one for KAS. This is the result ...
available free through Ravelry. It seems complicated at first, but if you follow the pattern instructions step by step it all works out quite well.
I had one problem that quite surprised me. I used worsted weight yarn and a 9 mm hook as stated in the pattern. The pattern said length would be 58", but my work is usually a little tight, so I thought it would be slightly smaller, closer to KAS length of 56". After several rows, I found mine was much too long, about 64". I took out the last 3 blocks on each row already worked, and made 16 or 17 blocks for the remainder of the pattern rather than the stated 19 or 20.
There are also many YouTube videos on how to fill in the triangles along the sides if you don't want the zigzag edge.
Once you get the hang of it, it works up very quickly.
Tunisian Crochet Entrelac Throw pattern by Lion Brand Yarn
Teens will love the bold colorful stripes used to make this afghan. (Lion Brand Yarn)
This is one technique I've never tried and I even chickened out of the knitted version in the 35 Squares Make a Blanket book! Absolutely stunning result, Sharon.

I have only tried knitting the 35 Squares 8" knitted version - it involved a lot of turning your work and time alone to concentrate! The TC version looks a lot calmer once you've got started. Respect ⭐

I once, only once, tried knitted entrelac, Patricia. And I was so totally confused after only a few rows that I just gave up, forever!
Crochet entrelac is so much easier! And you don't need a special Tunisian hook, as long as you have a straight crochet hook, because you're only working a few stitches across.
Serious blanket envy here - it's just amazing! Like Karen, I had to look up how it's done, and it's now on my 'must try this' list!

I've just watched a You Tube video of how this is done Sharon. It crochets up so differently compared to knitting entrelac xx. The resulting blanket is amazing, very well done ⭐
