  • If Forum members watch the video and then click on the link below, it will totally bring home the value of what KAS and its members are achieving.  We are a worldwide charity group operating via the internet, working with very little funds, without offices/warehousing, without salaries, without expensive 4x4 wheel-drive cars, nor are we shelling out for school fees, pensions funds, relocation fees, and, luxury housing.   Everyone involved, every knitter, crocheter, weaver and all the volunteers have made this work, by caring and taking direct action.

    • I might add that it is shocking to find out what the heads of famous charities (including sadly United Way, Red Cross and World Vision) make in wages plus perks...simply awful.  Here we go from us to them.  Period.  No middle men, just caring hearts and hands.  I love it!
  • Agree with Anne, it is lovely to see the children being presented with a bundle of goodies in their own names.  Hopefully, it helps them to feel valued.
  • Have posted the video on my Facebook page and asked all my friends to spread it to their friends as the video is a wonderful testament to the work of KAS, and, the McDonald Family in both Australia and South Africa.  Plus Lindiwe & Wandile and all the other volunteers in South Africa.

KAS is certainly a wonderful movement - I'm so proud to be part of it.  In the 19th Century it only took the Salvation Army 7 years to spread its work and network to all four corners of the globe, let us continue KAS's brilliant work with the same gusto!

    • It was also very interesting to see how many partnerships were involved-everyone needed everyone else for it to succeed and everyone's contribution was important. So many different individuals will have gained something from being involved. Sort of sums up KAS in a way.

Yes Pam I feel proud to be part of it too. Where will we be by 2016 I wonder?!

  • That's just given me the most amazing boost.  What a superb video.  It really made me cry happy tears.  Thanks SO MUCH for sharing it!
  • Thankyou so much for that link Sandy. Just what I needed to jolt me out of my absorption with, by comparison, my own negligible concerns. I liked the lovely collection of things that each child received, a whole set of belongings. Inspiration indeed.....
  • Thank you so much for the link. As a new member I am finding my way in how to talk about KasCare and interest fellow knitters. Having the video on my itouch is great!  All the very best in your difficult housing journey. You have my empathy.
    • Sorry! Didn't mean to double. First post here.
      • Perfectly okay.  It happens and I'm a "whiz-bang" at deleting duplicates as you can see. It's one of the few things I can do right on a computer, lol. ;)
