"Thanks for the welcome back! The pink teddy remains the only toy I've finished I'm afraid to say :(. I've been doing a Digital Skills for Adults course at our library this year and have more confidence than I realised, so the photo made it across…"
Hi Anne, you asked a while back if there is a knitting equivalent of 'Grit Stitch'. I'm not sure if anyone has actually replied but I thought I'd have a go. Not being a knitter, I'm a little handicapped but I've trawled through some Google images and I think moss stitch or, possibly even better, double moss stitch is similar in texture. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Elaine
Hi Anne, saw your comment about the blue background for the rainbow. It is a basic crochet stitch. If you can make a chain stitch and what we in Canada call a single crochet, and you call a double crochet, you would be fine with this pattern.
If you "friend" me I will send you the pattern. It is the Plain Jane pattern that will be included in the new KASPattern book.....nearing completion !!
Thanks for your lovely comments - glad you like the chunky jumper, and yes, the Samaritans Purse hat is a real favourite of mine - quick and easy to do, whilst being very warm and stretchy - perfect! as for the clean and tidy house, well, errrmmm, I am quite an organised/methodical person! plus after a day at work I need to come back to 'tidy' to unravel my head - if you know what I mean!!
Chunky%20Jumper.doc here is the chunky jumper pattern - just in case you fancy having a go!! Kathyxx

Hi Anne, I read your comment about being unable to add a photo to the forum. Perhaps I can help. What exactly is the problem ? Linda

Hi Anne,
The pattern for the squares I posted is as follows:
I used UK size8 and double knitting.
Cast on 40 sts.
Row 1 K2, slip 1 *K4, slip1 continue to last 3 sts.: Slip1 K2
Row 2: K2 *P the slipped stitch,K4 * P slip st. repeat to last 3 sts. P slip st. K2
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for pattern.
Knit until work measures 8".
Very easy pattern. Use two colours, changing every two rows.
Happy knitting.
Hi Anne,
I'm looking forward to seeing your new creation:)
Best Wishes

Hi Anne,
Just under two balls of red and one ball of white. Being chunky it also knits up very quick.
Best wishes

Thank you Anne. Yes, not so easy, but as one life goes out, another begins.
