Marion Davies
'Working with KAS has brought me a lot of joy and friendship. Give my love to everyone.
Love Marion'
We would love to create a blanket or two in tribute to Marion.
Although I am unaware of Marion's favourite colour, she created so many fun, pretty, cheerful and child-inspired squares and as such, it would be lovely to knit or crochet some colourful, playful squares in her honour. If you would like to participate, please make a note in your parcel indicating which are your 'Marion squares', so that the ladies in South Africa can gather them all together to create a special memorial blanket.
Thank you.
You can view Marion's wonderful crafting by visiting her page.

Those are lovely Patricia, very Marion. I'm sure she's looking down and loving your choice of patterns.
These are my squares for Marion's Memorial Blanket. I've made the plain coloured textured quarters squares because when I posted a photo of some on the Forum once Marion asked me for the pattern - so I know she liked it. Needless to say the squares Marion made from it were impeccable.
these are lovely. They will be beautiful in the blanket.
These are BEAUTIFUL, Patricia. The textures and the colours are so pretty.
Thank you and to everyone for sharing your 'Marion moments' with us all. xoxo
These made me think of Marion straight away. Beautiful colour + stitch choices xx
I just listend to the podcast episode with Marion and heard her say that she liked lilac.
Very sad she passed away but glad I listend to the episode. She sounded like a very friendly and happy person.
So sad to hear that Marion has passed away. I absolutely loved her work and made many blankets from her exquisite squares.
I would be honoured to make a memory blanket from all the beautiful squares that her friends make for it.
Some of my favourite squares of Marion's are her Licqorice Allsorts, the Sunflower blanket I made for a a young cancer patient who's name was Sunflower, sadly she passed away a few weeks later. I absolutely loved her Lion King square, the Mermaid and the underwater squares, the three little pigs and she included the story book in her parcel list goes on and on.
Marion was a proud Welsh lady from North Wales and she loved daffodils, the national flower of Wales.
She loved making things for the children in SA, and her exquisite work will have delighted the many children who would have received something made with love from Marion. Her work was inspiring and I was always in awe of her talent. Clearly Marion loved being a part of KAS and it meant a lot to her, she will be remembered fondly by her KAS friends.
2 squares towards Marion's blankets...
