Marion Davies
'Working with KAS has brought me a lot of joy and friendship. Give my love to everyone.
Love Marion'
We would love to create a blanket or two in tribute to Marion.
Although I am unaware of Marion's favourite colour, she created so many fun, pretty, cheerful and child-inspired squares and as such, it would be lovely to knit or crochet some colourful, playful squares in her honour. If you would like to participate, please make a note in your parcel indicating which are your 'Marion squares', so that the ladies in South Africa can gather them all together to create a special memorial blanket.
Thank you.

Chris I have made Marion's blanket. Unfortunately I only got two of your lovely squares. Apparently the other two arrived at the barn with clear instructions that they were for Marion's blanket and they had my name on them but sadly they were included in a bundle of Gogo squares.
these are delightful, happy squares, Chris. The children will love them.
LOVELY squares, Chris. Cute owls, pretty background.
These 2 little darling owl squares are just perfect Chris ⭐ xx
A beautiful start, Chris. I'm working on mine.
Hearing the very sad news of Marion's passing earlier this year hits hard. Images of her picture squares easily came to my mind, but I have revisited her catalogue of KAS crochet + knitting makes to enjoy them all again. She showed a variety of skills and came up with the most amazing ideas which made us all gasp and smile. I'd often compliment her makes openly on the forum, then message her privately in awe of her impeccable talent. She always replied x
I remember too that she recorded a podcast with Leanne Hunt on 29 June 2021, which was called 'Castles + Picture Squares' in which you can hear her voice + opinions. Give it a listen if you've not heard it before as her love for KAS shines through.
I will certainly be making some squares in memory of her too. An all round lovely lady xx
Such sad news . Marion was an avid supporter of KAS , with her exquisite work. I always looked forward to seeing one of her masterpieces. She was so talented. I will definitely be knitting a few squares to honour her memory. Was purple or Lilac her favourite colour?
So sad that Marion passed away. I remember her as a real yarn artist, beautifully created squares made with passion and love for the children. Marion was well known on the forum. She was an inspiration for me and many others.
Thank you for passing on this sad news. I think it's fair to say that Marion's work was my favourite out of everybody on the Forum. I will definitely be contributing to the memorial blanket.
