Hi All, Nicola, in London, and - I'm sure she won't mind me saying - Mandy's sister. I blame her entirely for introducing the Knit-a-Square bug to me! And argh at the one that grew too wide last night and had to be unpicked!!! Moss stitch indeed :P
I'm not so creative - can't even draw a stick man, so mine'll be mostly Plain Janes ~ but I'll try to make them soft and cuddly in as bright colours as I can find wool :)
I also grew up in SA, love it to bits, and left a huge chunk of my heart there.
It is a real priviledge to have the opportunity to make this direct and tangible difference to the beautiful children of Africa ~
Thanks KAS for organising, good luck and nKosi Sikilel' (God Bless) iAfrika and each and every square

Welcome to another ex S Africa, there are more and more of you joining the ranks. How long have you been in the UK? And where did you live in S.A.
My husband and I used to visit London regularly when my brother and his wife lived in Hampton Hill. They have now moved to France (retired) and are running a B&B. We visited them there once but sadly our days of travelling are over. We have now put down roots just south of Port Shepstone.
Hope you get as much out of knitting for KAS as the rest of us. Visiting the forum is becoming quite addictive for me as I love to see and read about what everyone else is doing.
cheers for now - Jen
I've been back in UK 12 years now - was born here, I guess we all come back to our roots along the way hey? Still miss SA like crazy though, many very special memories. I have a beautiful son here, happily settled into school and UK life.
I'm thrilled to be sending some warmth home with each square x
It is frustrating to find your work coming out wrong size, but no need to fret too much. Everything is accepted and made use of.
take care
xx
We're all glad that Mandy shared her KAS love with you. Plain Jane squares are wonderful and much needed right now so no need to fuss with Moss Stitch unless you want to.
