WHAT'S ON YOUR HOOKS AND NEEDLES IN SEPTEMBER 2025?

Welcome to September 2025

It is the first day of Spring for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere and my favourite season.

The CoM (colour of the month) is........

A lovely, soft shade that can be nice on its own, or mixed with just about any colour you can think of.

As usual my thoughts turn to food.....haha.

Cookies and cream (icecream)

I think I've covered just about every colour . laughing

Cream is so versatile.

So.....if you have some cream in your stash, perhaps you might like to create some pjs or striped/patterned squares containing cream.

My apologies if I've made you hungry....I'm starving!!

  • 13727947484?profile=RESIZE_710xI had 3 rolls of this Lion Brand jazzy wool which I teamed with Woolcraft Baby Care Shade 613 (a light cream).   I knit the 2 outside panels from the outside of the roll to the middle, then did the central wider panel 18 sts wider and knit from the inside of the roll to the outside.    There is a massive boob amongst the blanket which I didn't notice until I started construction and bordering,   Too late was the cry - however it makes the blanket even more unique, ha ha.   All knit on 6.5mm needles double strand, outer panels 60 sts, central 78sts.   All K3P3 basketweave, 4 rows per box, 48 boxes width.

    • SO pretty! Love that yarn! Superchoice! Beautiful knitwork, as always. xo

    • REALLY COSY!  the colours and textures look so warm and cuddly.

    • Well, I can't see a massive boob...but I do see one GORGEOUS blanket,Karen!!

You're getting quite fancy, girl.  :)) LOVE the double colour border, too.

  • Sept 30 2025 "What's on my Hooks and Needles"...Orange Shirt Day is now a National holiday in Canada for Truth and Reconciliation.  EVERY CHILD MATTERS,

13727841274?profile=RESIZE_400x13727841469?profile=RESIZE_1200xI made some orange squares and this is orange shirt I wear today.

    • Beautiful work Arlene! Love the T-shirt for such a good cause!

    • That's amazing Arlene!

    • Fantastic colours here !

    • SUPER squares, Arlene!

LOVE the stripes you have happening in your cream square.

I have just done some reading regarding the truth and reconciliation day. Thankfully these practices are in the past. Australia had similar practices with indigenous communities in the past. Feeling for all the children, now adults,  in similar situations.
