    • In the U.S., we haven't had surface mail for a long time, so everything must go by airmail.  The package I sent this week weighed about 14.5 lbs (about 6.5 kgs) and it cost $175.   Soon it will cost more because I have heard that postal rates are going to jump up again.   The postage always cost much more than the yarn itself.

      Good thing the customs fees aren't charged on the postage cost!

      • I think we still have surface mail, but  Sandra Jones had posted four parcels (post covid and all its mailing difficulties) a couple of years back,and they all came back to her and she resent them air mail. Now, I send mine 'standard airmail', which costs about 50% more, but at least they get there. 6.5kgs  costs me around $150+, but as our postal fees usually rise around April, I'm guessing ours will now be similar.
