hi diane
i wanted to share with you that one of our blankets is pictured on the allfororphans site. on the latest blog the second to the last pic has one blanket with predominately light blue squares - i made those the rest were sent by you - this one is a result of our efforts so felt that sharing this completes the circle. it feels awesome to see the child wrapped. mission accomplished!! :)
Hi Diane,
thanks for the back-up the other day.
I certainly didn't mean to step on any ones toes and was a bit taken aback by the reaction. KZN Baby pack is a good site isn't it? I did a lot of knitting for them until I got busy with work for KAS. Sometimes I feel that perhaps I should be working for a more local group - the babypack is right on my back doorstep. Our children down here have even less support than those closer to a huge city like Johannesburg/Soweto. However, it's the commaradie on KAS that keeps me hooked. Jen xx

thanks for your kind comments. i really did enjoy the PA weekend. it is so nice to meet people with the same drive for this wonderful charity. of course i don't think i'd ever meet a bad person involved in charity events. it usually brings people of the same mindset together which is just wonderful. it was so emotional when the girls presented the blankets on stage. to see our work actually getting into the hands of some people that really appreciate what we do. the dancing and display that the choiresters did for us was so awesome. i admit - iwas wiping my eyes of joyful tears. enough inspiration to keep me going for quite some time.
:)
Hi again ! I used a free pattern available from our local wool shop. I find she has lots of free patterns available.
But the pattern is available at www.sugarncream.com. Search for "Flower Power Rug". You have to become a member but the membership is free.
Hi Diane, I will post the pattern. It is quite a simple crochet pattern but very effective.
I'm impressed at the number of squares you have contributed for the blankets.
KAS people have done a great job with the blankets.
hello diane
thank you for your friendly invitation and offer for the squares
i am hoping we are able to get this going and complete everything in time
with your contribution i'm sure we are off to a great start
did you make all those yourself

My parents moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC about 12 years ago and my dad works at Nucor Steel. My mom took Master Gardener classes at Clemson Univ a few years back so now their yard looks like a tropical paradise. Both of my sisters live in the south also. I am married, have 5 kids ages 22, 19 (he's attending NIU on a full scholarship), 7, 5 and 3. I love Facebook and manage to stay connected to everyone that way. Are you on? Hope Matt and Jessica are well. Great to hear from you!!
