POSTING A PARCEL?

Did you know that every parcel
Knit-a-square receives incurs a mandatory handling fee of $3.75 US, charged by the
South African Customs & Excise?
When mailing a package,
it is critical to write
BONA FIDE GIFT FOR CHARITY, NO COMMERCIAL VALUE on your parcel and a declared value of $0 on your Customs Slip so KAS doesn't incur additional postage fees.
Are you sending from the U.S.? Please DO NOT insure your package.

Sharon B replied to Bev Jeffery's discussion WHAT'S ON YOUR NEEDLES AND HOOKS IN JANUARY 2026?
"Thank your for confirming that Diane.   I love linen stitch, as you said easy and fast, but mostly because the resulting fabric is warm but lightweight and flexible, not stiff or heavy.   I now like your idea of doing the blanket as two panels to control the size and weight sitting in your lap."

Diane Burns replied to Bev Jeffery's discussion WHAT'S ON YOUR NEEDLES AND HOOKS IN JANUARY 2026?
"Thanks Karen, I did this in two panels, found it quite heavy to work with, but very satisfying once finished. Agree about stripes, the work seems to grow much more quickly than plain colours. I used Hayfield Bonus Aran Tweed in teal and butterscotch plus Aldi Rainbow yarn in blue and green. Sharon was correct - linen stitch. I find it quite easy and works up quickly. I have been practising this stitch with several squares over the last few months."

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
