This discussion will focus on some of the distributions

made by our KAS volunteers in 2025.

First part of Athele and Estelle's Annual Christmas Distribution...

Count on my partner in crime Estelle McLeod to put together another Christmas cheer distribution for knit-a-square this year Luckily we also have Ma Lizzy’s wonderful little crèche in the Lion Park informal settlement on the far northern extremity of the sprawling city that is Jozi. Ma Lizzy keeps careful note throughout the year of the children in this exceptionally disadvantaged community to whom a soft warm blanket and a cuddly toy would make a Real difference and does her best to assemble them for us on the designated day. Here’s the collection of little ones who were blessed by all the contributors this time, without whom we would have nothing to give and to whom we are eternally grateful, as are all these little ones.

 

We distributed to 67 children all told this time and ran out of blankets and toys as always.

 

Thanks to those who contributed funds to knit-a-square we were able to purchase all the red and white teddies you see as this year we didn’t receive even nearly enough soft toys to go with the blankets the team were able to make from all the lovely squares. Bless all the kind hands that contributed in so many ways to make this possible.

Dear Athele, I am so sorry to hear of your mother Noria's passing.  It is such a sad time for you and your family.

I was absolutely delighted to see that one of my blankets made it out to one of your distributions.  I do hope the little chappie likes

Ahtele made her annual trek north to Parufi and has shared these touching photos from her distribution.  

I was so happy to be able to give Knit-a-square blankets, beanies and toys to 21 children I know can really do with a little spoil, while I was up north for my darling other mother Noria’s funeral last weekend.

 

Grateful to all the loving hands around the world of wonderful contributors or squares, sometimes whole beautiful blankets, beanies and soft toys, especially dear Estelle who makes a real effort to get me inspiring lovely squares to work with.
