My first thought is to make enquiries about getting KAS registered as a charity in the UK. I think it is free to register with the charity commissioners and I am going to find out the details of what is required.

I've not been posting on the forum much in the last couple of days. One day was taken up with meetings, to do with the older people's group I'm involved in locally. And the other day was spent looking at, and deciding on, a car. I'm without transport at the moment and life can get difficult if you are car less where I live. A little adaptation will be needed to the new car, and I don't know how long that is going to take. In the meantime I am relying on favours from others to get about. Can't wait to get the whole thing sorted. Kind as people are, I don't want to presume too much on their good will.
Five days since the Fund Raising Group started and the response has been amazing. Eighteen members, pouring out fantastic ideas and with so much energy and enthusiasm. It really is a privilege to be part of this wonderful community of generous and committed people.
There's room for any number of people in the group, so drop by, sign up, be inspired.

As I knit I think about Kas quite a lot and it has been on my mind for a long time that something needs to happen on the funding front. It's hard. We're in the middle of a world wide financial crisis, and Sandy and family have been working very hard on this. We take on knitting collectively. Isn't it logical to take on fund raising collectively?
