Hi, I'm Rachel, I live in Yorkshire, I am married and have 3 children, I work part-time and I knit and crochet as much as possible in between ;o)

I found out about knit-a-square on a knitting forum and I love what you are doing...I'm not fantastically fast though but I am slowly working through all my leftover yarn and making a little pile of squares for you...one of my friends is a yarn addict just like me and she has given me some of her stash to use up too.

looking forward to making some friends on here, take care x

  • Hi Rachel lovely to meet you! I'm not very fast either but every square counts. Look forward to chatting to you in the future x x x
  • Hello and welcome! There are some lovely people on here with lots of advice if you have any questions, although I am fairly new myself to this site so I have more questions than answers at the minute! xx
  • nice to have you, Rachel.
I live across 'the Hills' from you.
Have you joined the UK group?
remember to post your square totals
    xx
    • help! where do I post my square totals?? I have only done 3 so far ( I actually did more but my tension was all squiffy and well, they weren't square at all LOL!)
      • Hi Rachel, did anyone get back to you about this? If you look on the main KAS web page (www.knit-a-square.com not the forum), there is a menu down the left hand side. If you click on Postal Instructions this will give you the info you need, but I since then, they have requested that the squares arrive flat rather than rolled up. Check out the discussion "Revised Wish List 2010 Requests and Suggestions" on this forum which was compiled by Sandy after her trip out there.
        Hope this helps :-)
        Rachel
      • Hi Rachel. At present we're doing a countdown as the summer challenge. If you click on Forum, you'll either see Tally - Countdown from 55,900 near the top of the page or if not, scroll down to Challenges and click there. If you open the Countdown page and enter your total at the end Rona will add it to the spreadsheet for you and delete your entry (just to keep things manageable). Keep a running total yourself so that when you enter the second lot you would say something like: I have just made [6] more squares so my total is now [8]. Have a look - you'll see what I mean. We also keep a 2010 Tally (which is on page 2 of the Forum) and for that you just add your total to the previous entry. If you don't want to do it yourself just ask someone else to. And if you join the UK Group we have a similar tally running there which you do in the same way. These are just for motivation and fun so if you don't do any it isn't that important. Any problems, ask again.
  • Welcome Rachel - we are glad to have you on board!!
    • Me too Rachel....welcome to KAS.....I know you will enjoy it...you already have the hang of it...using up scrap yarn....Yeah...
