Marion Davies
'Working with KAS has brought me a lot of joy and friendship. Give my love to everyone.
Love Marion'
We would love to create a blanket or two in tribute to Marion.
Although I am unaware of Marion's favourite colour, she created so many fun, pretty, cheerful and child-inspired squares and as such, it would be lovely to knit or crochet some colourful, playful squares in her honour. If you would like to participate, please make a note in your parcel indicating which are your 'Marion squares', so that the ladies in South Africa can gather them all together to create a special memorial blanket.
Thank you.
You can view Marion's wonderful crafting by visiting her page.

Winners.
Marvelous squares.
These squares are GORGEOUS, Pat!.....and will fit beautifully into the memorial blanket/s.
Sadly, I have had no time to knit lately, so my squares for the blankets are still in my head, with the yarn in my bag.
So sorry to hear of your loooong postal strike, this must be very inconvenient, especially this time of year.
plain squares and variegated squares , all in Lilac for Marians blanket. Unfortunately we are into the 4th week of a Postal Strike, so these will take a while to reach South Africa.
What a bad time of year for a postal strike! I see the Barn isn't re-opening until the end of January anyway so there is no urgency. Plain squares are always needed in a blanket, and the subtle stripes are lovely.
Translation of Mireille Réau's reply: Every time a Kas knitter flies away, it is the entire community of volunteer knitters that is in mourning. I discovered Marion's immense talent on this sad occasion and I intend to make one or more squares for her commemorative cover (which I will post next year). I am sure that from where she lives now she will not stop inspiring us and guiding our hands.
Sad news, will miss Marion's exquisite work
thank you for letting us know of Marion's passing. This is such a loss of a friend. I will miss her fabulous squares - each one so memorable - the dazzling parrot, the elephants! all so bright and joyous. I will think of a square to add to her blanket. Please let her family know how much she meant to us and the joy she brought to the children.
