WHAT'S ON YOUR HOOKS AND NEEDLES
August and September brough us so many colorful and creative items for the children in South Africa. We have been introduced to new patterns, patterns have been revisited from the KAS Patternbook .
So many blankets have been coming into The Barn by our Gogo groups, volunteers and contributors. All are filled with color, texture, designs and provide lots of warmth for the children in South Africa.

Thanks to the team in South Africa we are lucky to have so many photos from distributions. When you visit the latest updates see is you can spy a KAS Cuddlebug or two in the hands of the children.
THE AUGUST 2025 SQUARES LIST IS AVAILABLE
MONTHLY TOTALS:
During August we received 73 parcels, containing 4.468 squares, equal to 127 blankets.
Many other items were received, such as hats, hand-warmers, cuddly toys and other goodies.

THE JULY 2025 MONTHLY TOTALS:
During July we received approx. 98 parcels, containing 11.166 squares, equal to 319 blankets.
Many other items were received, such as hats, hand-warmers, cuddly toys and other goodies.

Finances up to the end of August. Despite that red line, the finances are stable.

"I am just letting you know that, with so few of us in the Barn these days we are a bit snowed under and getting behind on parcel opening, photographs, reports, sewing of labels on the blankets and all that.
So we decided to come in on the odd MONDAY as well.
Being well aware that holding KAS twice a week obliges double costs, I’m hopeful that this will happen once or twice MORE – Aug/early Sept."

What are you going to be working on for projects during October? Are you embracing the bright Spring colors... first Spring green, flowers blooming, stormy skies, or sunrises and sunsets. Are you experiencing Autumn...falling colorful leaves, snuggling next to a warm fire, creating warm items for KAS.

Wonderful photos of your trip, Amy. Lots of your favourite colour yellow!
I see that once again we are being asked to use clear packing tape. I've always used brown parcel tape but thought I should check if clear tape is specified for any particular reason.
I think it is important to use tape...not necessarily clear. At one point in time the parcels wrapped in paper were tearing where there wasn't any tape.
